5" 4:5 3.7 Stage
The 5” x 4 1⁄4” 5-6 Lobe Motor has the same power section (rotor and stator) design as the 3 3⁄4” 5-6. This motor was designed to run with the original Ditchwitch boring machines that had 4 3⁄4” OD pipe but small pumps (not enough to run a regular 5” drilling motor). To better line up with that machine, Adtech engineers took the 5” motor bearing pack and joined it with the 3 3⁄4” 5-6 rotor and stator. By injecting rubber into a 4 1⁄4” tube, they were able to cut larger threads to line up with the 5” bearing pack. This motor has become a favorite for customers who want to run a larger drill bit (6 1⁄4” – 6 3⁄4”) but with smaller pumps that only output 120 – 160 GPM. As with the 3 3⁄4” 5-6, this motor is used for medium formations and has medium torque.
Stator and Rotor sizes are subject to change at the discretion of Adtech. Power section specifications may vary due to environmental conditions. Operation of power section above the maximum recommended differential pressure will result in a decrease of stator life and performance.
